Itty Bitty Basketball
Coed League Ages 4-5
Itty Bitty Basketball is a co-ed league that will help young players learn the basic fundamentals of basketball. Players will develop social skills, character and self-esteem while developing and learning the game of basketball. Each child will learn and improve in dribbling, shooting, teamwork, sportsmanship, but most of all, have FUN playing basketball. Coaches will teach the YMCA Core Values of Honesty, Caring, Respect and Responsibility.
Practices:
Teams practice on Saturday for one hour, and coaches have fun drills and activities to help young player learn and enjoy basketball. We cannot guarantee special requests during late registration.

Rookie Basketball
Coed League Ages 6-7
Rookie Basketball is a co-ed league that will help youth children continue to enhance their basic basketball skills. Players continue to learn social skills, character, and self-esteem, while developing their game. Each child will learn and improve in dribbling, shooting, teamwork, sportsmanship, and have FUN playing basketball. Coaches teach the Core Values of Caring, Honesty, Respect and Responsibility.
Practices:
Teams practice on Saturdays and players will have 7 games and 5 scrimmages.

Y-Basketball League
Boys and Girls Leagues Grades 3 - 6
The Y-Ball league is to help young players learn and put into practice the fundamentals of basketball. Players will develop social skills, character and self-esteem while developing and understanding the game of basketball. Players will improve their basketball and expand their skills of dribbling, shooting, teamwork, sportsmanship, but most of all, have FUN playing basketball. Coaches will teach the YMCA Core Values of Honesty, Caring, Respect and Responsibility.
Practices:
Teams will practice an hour one day each week beginning in November. Practices are normally held at local school or area churches. They take place Monday - Thursday and will start no earlier than 5:00pm. Practices are selected by the Head Coach. We cannot guarantee special requests during late registration.
Cancellation Policy:
When cancelling, participants will receive 50% of the registration fee after a specific date and there will be no refunds after December 1.

Y-Hoops Teams
Grades 7-8
Y-Hoops Teams are for individuals and/or teams to play against other teams. The season is 8 weeks. Register as a team or as an individual, for placement on a team.

Fees:
Participants can register for the program during the registration window.
Late registration will be from October 23rd – October 31st, depending on team openings. There will be a $12 increase in the fee for players registering during this time. During late registration, players will be assigned to teams where roster spots are available. Payments may be made online, in house at the Portage or Maple branches, or by phone, 269.324.9622 ext. 0.
Scholarships:
Financial assistance is available based on family size and income. Applications are available at Member Services at each branch location. Proof of income is required. When completed, you will be contacted within 5 business days regarding how much, if any, scholarship that you qualify for.
Schedules:
Game schedules will be available on the website at the beginning of the season.
Team Formation:
Team rosters are limited to no more than 10 players unless a team’s coach requests more for his or her team. Players will be notified of their team placement from the head coach, as well as your practice time, day and location. Players are assigned to teams based on the school you attend or the area which you live. We cannot guarantee special requests during late registration.
Special Requests:
When registering, families can request one player, or coach, to be assigned to the same team. We cannot guarantee special requests during late registration.
Coaches:
The YMCA Youth Basketball Program relies on volunteer coaches to make the program successful. If you would like to volunteer, please indicate it on the registration form or contact the Youth Sports Director.
Equipment:
Participants will receive a team t-shirt that will be worn at all games. During games and practices, watches and jewelry must be removed. Players who fail to remove jewelry and watches may not participate until it is removed.
Pictures:
Team pictures will be taken in February by Legends Sports Photography. You will receive information from your coach 2 weeks prior to picture day.

Flag Football
Age 4 - Grade 8
Players will develop social skills, character and self-esteem while developing and learning the game of football. Each child will learn and play offense and defense every game throughout the season. Coaches will teach the YMCA Core Values of Honesty, Caring, Respect and Responsibility, along with Sportsmanship and Teamwork.
Practices:
Teams are allowed to practice two days a week until the first game, then practices will be one day each week. Practices will be no longer than 90 minutes. Teams are allowed to start practices the week of Labor Day, and normally held at local schools or neighborhood parks. Practices normally take place Monday - Thursday, and will start no earlier than 5:00pm. Practices are selected by the Head Coach. We cannot guarantee special requests during late registration.
Games:
Games are scheduled on Saturdays at Woods Lake Elementary School located on the corner of Whites Rd. and Oakland Dr. Early games will start at 8:30am and late games will start at 3:30pm. All teams will have 6 games throughout the season.
Fees:
