YMCA Arts programs are excellent opportunities for youth, teens, adults and families to gain exposure to a significant aspect of our culture. Through the arts, participants experience activities that foster self-expression and build self-esteem, develop imagination, critical thinking and valuable social skills. Arts programs create a better understanding of the various cultures and backgrounds that make up our community and help foster uplifting relationships. The arts are ideal in celebrating families, friends and communities.

The arts are a fantastic way to enhance and practice the best and strongest values and parts of our selves. Exposures to the arts develop progressive skills that help us connect and understand other people, and express our ideas, while providing a unique entertainment experience. |

Musical Drama Camp – Carnival of the Animals: ages 3-8 New!
Explore the story, the instruments, the characters, set making, props, costumes and makeup. On the last day of camp, we will perform the story for friends and families. Each day contains music, art, dance and drama. We will break into age groups and rotate through the activities.

Journey to our Magical Kingdom and be a princess for a week. Dance to your favorite princess tunes and meet Snow white. Camp included dance instruction, creative arts, pretend play and group games centered on the week's theme. The week ends with a parade and an in class performance for family and friends. Wear leotard, shorts/skirt or tights and ballet shoes.

Accessible Art Camp: grades 2-8 New!

Beginning level acting class: Stage directions, improv, scene work, character development. Entering grades 4 - 6. Class is located at Portage Central High School.

Elementary Drama Camp – Stone in the Road: ages 9-11 New!
Participants will rehearse the play, Stone in the Road, culminating in a free performance held on June 29 at 6:30 pm. Class location is Portage Central High School.

Intro to Spanish: ages 5-8 New!
Interested in having your child learn a second language? Our new Into to Spanish class is a perfect introduction for beginning conversational Spanish. Your child will learn basics such as colors, numbers, the alphabet, as well as basic conversation and dialect skills. This class will also give your child a better understanding of Spanish heritage and culture.

Triple Threat – Musical Theatre: ages 9-11 New!

Mural Painting Workshop : grades 8-12 New!
Students will learn to work together in a collaborative project creating a mural for the play The Secret Garden. They will also be exposed to scene set production. Entering grades 8 - 12.
